School may be over, but there was no better place to be today as Kind Hearts for Kids took over the St. John Paul II High School for the KHFK 2022 Summer Celebration! There was a great turn out with more than 60 kids and their families joining in on the fun!
KHFK was so grateful to have the Cape Cod Foster Closet in attendance at the Summer Celebration. They provided each child with a bathing suit, a beach towel, goggles, flip flops and so much more! The volunteers appeared to be having as much fun as the kids as they assisted them with their summer clothing “shopping spree”!
After shopping, the families took a stroll over to the field which was buzzing with a plethora of activities for the kids. Our amazing volunteers provided all the fun for the kids with face painting, yard games, edible art and bubble painting. Based on their smiles and the sound of laughter filling the air, we’d say the kids had a pretty great time!
Before wrapping up the day, each of the kids were given a treat bag filled with snacks and an animal themed string backpack full of summer toys. (It probably took them as long to choose just the right animal backpack as it did to do their summer shopping)!
The snack bags and backpacks provided for today’s event were assembled with care earlier in the month by volunteers at BlueCross and BlueShield of Massachusetts during a BlueCrew volunteer event held at their office in Hingham.
