Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Kristin and Peter Koepfer, the owners of Avocados Always Fresh in Pocasset, Kind Hearts for Kids Inc. was able to host a great Valentines giveaway event on January 31, 2021. Socially distanced, masked up and with safety in mind, Founder of KHFK, Nicole Mitchell, Sue Murphy and Stacey Hennessey (pic below!) set up 64 beautiful bags and baskets filled with treats and surprises. The bags were assembled thanks to the financial support and purchases through our Amazon wish list by our always loyal and generous KHFK members! 24 beautiful baskets were donated by Shelbi Lynn Palmer and her family and everyone who spotted them was impressed. The visiting families and children were able to browse and select from a lovely table full of brand new books (the kids were so excited to pick out their own books!). We also had winter wear, child sized cloth face masks (adorable and a big hit!), and brand new sweatsuits donated by Walmart! Thanks to Heidi Gammell’s beautiful craftsmanship, the families were able to select some gorgeous handmade Valentines cards for the children to bring home and fill out! Not only did we hand out 35 bags/baskets but 25 were sent to the Fall River DCF office to be distributed and 4 were given to local adoptive families! Now to start thinking about St. Patrick’s Day!
