Spring is finally here! Is there any better way to celebrate spring than being outdoors in the bright, warm sunshine? Add an Easter Bunny, egg hunt, face painting, squirt gun painting, a petting zoo, balloon animals, pop tart Easter house decorating, games, lots of food and the sound of children laughing all day and it may just be the most perfect spring day ever!
Kind Hearts for Kids had another hugely successful event this past Saturday, hosting over 100 foster and kinship children at the Indian Head Campground in Plymouth, Massachusetts for an early Easter celebration. To say these kids and their families had a great time would be the understatement of the year!
The children were delighted to spend some time with a bunny and three of the goats who came to visit us from Pine Meadow Farms in Mattapoiset. These gentle creatures and their amazing owners were wonderful with the kids!
Thanks to Dianne Enzian of Dianne’s Art Farm, kids art was brought to life by way of squirt guns and paint. This was for sure one of the fan favorites of the day!
When the kids had their fill of activities and were ready to leave, they were each given their own gift bag filled with goodies to take home. In addition, ten lucky children won an Easter basket full of toys, games and gifts. The baskets were created and generously donated by one of our super volunteers, Renee Sproul.
Kind Hearts also had the largest number of volunteers yet at a single event. In addition to our many wonderful adult volunteers, there were also were over 40 National Honors students helping out from St. John Paul II and Archbishop Williams High Schools. These students were hard working, great with the kids, enthusiastic and a pleasure to have with us. We would welcome them back anytime! Thank you to ALL of our volunteers for making this such a great event! We’re glad to see that you all had fun too!
From The Kind Hearts family to your family, we hope you have a wonderful Easter!
It was a blessing to be a part of this amazing day. I have to say those teenagers that volunteered were so helpful and fun! They really helped a lot and had a great attitude even after being sprayed with squirt gun paint! Thanks 😊👩🏻🎨
