Each year, BlueCross/BlueShield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) dedicates one day for a company-wide Service Day. Associates across the company spend their day with one of many BCBSMA Community Partners in acts of service. In 2021, Kind Hearts for Kids had the good fortune to be chosen as a BCBSMA Community Partner. The 19 spots available were quickly filled with Associates who were ready to spend their Service Day with us!
With smiling faces and rolled up sleeves, the volunteers came ready to work! We started them out easy-wrapping donated Christmas gifts and stuffing duffel bags filled with presents to be given to the kids. They crushed this task and did an amazing job!
We then moved on to the bigger job at hand, moving. We were very fortunate to acquire the office across the hall, which has 3 times the amount of space of our current office. Not only will it house all of the wonderful things we have for the kids, but we will also have room for activities!
Our volunteers helped us to move our belongings from one office to the other-no small task-but they handled it like pros!
We are amazed at everything that was accomplished in such a short amount of time! We made new friends and are grateful to them all for choosing to spend their day with us and for all of their hard work!! We couldn’t have done this without them!
